I originally encountered Stalwart Crafts at the Taste of London exhibition, and my lovely wife persuaded me to buy a basic apron, because she knew I'd fancied one for a while and had been put off by rather higher prices. Item bought.... then I discovered the website and this XL Cross Strap Apron, lol, apron envy kicked in! Happily Stalwart Crafts were very happy to take back my original purchase in PX for this, the Cadillac of aprons. So it cost more, but by now I didn't care, the quality is superb, heavy, dark, serious, makes me feel the king of the BBQ! Do I need it? No. Can I justify it? No. Do I want it? Hell yes! Total vanity purchase and I'm delighted.

Outstanding apron. Just received the XL cross strap in brown rustic leather as a gift from my family. Beautifully made, adjustable, super comfortable, looks fantastic and it'll improve with age. There may be better leather aprons on the planet but I doubt it. Order one today you won't regret it, failing that do as I did and beg someone near and dear to buy one for you instead! ????????

Oh wow oh wow oh wow, I never expected it to be this good. I am a chef and had an apron from another supplier and it was too heavy and looking tatty. This apron however is so so light and so comfortable to wear and it looks amazing. So happy I went for the deluxe apron.

I love my apron. The craftsmanship is great. I specially like the design very much. I've had a leather apron with a neck strap, but wearing that apron, gives me neck- and backpain. The design with the shoulderstraps avoids this. Gives also a best fit and wear it all day long. I love my apron !!!

Ive had this apron for about a month now and it seems like it will last years with proper care. the only issues i had was a very small area (size of a pin head) of dye flaked off but was easily fixed with some black leather dye and a shoulder strap hole was also incompletely punched, but luckily i don't use that hole for my size. otherwise the leather quality is astounding and it is very comfortable and secure while being worn.

This apron is excellent quality! My only fault would be the packaging - it didn’t match the same quality. (It just came in a slender cardboard box wrapped in a roll - no paper wrapped around it or anything) I thought after spending £133.25 on a premium quality item that the packaging would mirror the quality of the product. It was a gift (hence why the packaging was a disappointment.) Never the less I would definitely recommend buying

A perfect gift for my partner he was so thrilled, sturdy but soft. Exactly what I wanted it to be

With a week of heavy duty grilling in front of an open fire and large bed of charcoal on an Argentinean Parilla grill made by Hoof Grills in Scotland I was looking for an apron that wouldn't burn, wouldn't stain and would afford me some degree of protection from the heat generated by the grill working for 10 hrs a day. The Stalwart Classic Cork Apron fulfilled all those wishes for me and at the end of the week whilst looking well used and a bit dirtier, ( I haven't given it a good sponge down yet) people were remarking on how smart it looked and how unusual it was. From an insulation perspective it didn't insulate as much as I had hoped it would but never did I feel that I would burn and given cork if pretty burn resistant that was never a worry as it would have been with a cloth apron. All in all really pleased with my purchase, fantastic customer service from Stalwart Crafts and the overall quality of this cork apron. I will be definitely be using Stalwart Crafts again. Next purchase will be one of their leather aprons with our Hoof Grill logo embossed on the front and probably some embossed aprons to sell as accessories to go with our grills.
