Why the best butchers choose Stalwart Crafts

Last week we were celebrating our butchers community in International Butchers Week 2024. As a business, we are fortunate enough to have a multitude of butchers in our community and wanted to share why Stalwart Crafts Aprons go hand in hand with butchers work.

How Aprons and Butchers hold the same ethos

Butchers hold the same ethos as we do – making sure their products are ethically sourced and reduce waste. When you head to a butchers shop, you can see all kinds different cuts, that you would never find in your local supermarket; who knew there was more to a chicken than just legs and breast! A butcher will try to use every part of the animal they are working on – even sometimes giving the bones to the local dogs.

As a leather apron company, we pride ourselves in sourcing the best leather possible, whilst reducing waste. We use the hide of ex-dairy cows, further extending the use of the animal. After cutting our apron to size, rather than throwing away the excess leather, we use it to create byproducts, such as our drinks coasters.

When it comes to protection, there is nothing better than a leather apron. With the blood, sweat and hopefully not too many tears, you need a tough and durable apron that is going to weather the test of time. The leather apron is easy to clean and will age gracefully as time goes on – saving you on washing or replacement costs. Although the initial cost may seem high, we stand behind all the products we produce and thus give them a lifetime guarantee – so no need to spending more money than needed, unless you fancy increasing the number of aprons in your arsenal.

Butchers

We are immensely proud to be the apron of choice to all these wonderful butchers, along with so many more. Since the beginning of this year we have had over 25 orders from butchers wanting our aprons, that’s well over 100 aprons in under three months solely for butchers.

If you’re interested in how we could find the best apron for your business – drop us an email and one of our team will get in touch!

New Eltham Butchers are located in the heart of New Eltham Villiage. Opening their doors in 1999, they have been serving the local community since then. After head butcher Fred retired in 2018, Aaron and Louis have taken the reigns and continue to develop their offering.
