These oven mittens are extremely easy to clean. The leather that we use is tanned, cured, and coated with a special technique that renders it water and stain proof. Because of this coating, when they get dirty you need only wipe them down with a soft cloth and lukewarm water – perhaps with some natural soap if you’ve managed to submerge them totally in grease.

Like the rest of our deluxe range, we bring this full-grain leather in from a tannery in Italy. The hide is sourced from end-of-life dairy cows in the UK, Italy, and Northern Europe when they are eventually butchered for their meat; it’s hide that may otherwise go to waste. After the initial tanning stage, we bring the new leather to our tannery in Waalwijk, the Netherlands and finish it using a unique process that leads to very high-quality, premium leather. Then, we cure and treat this leather to make it highly resistant to cutting, staining, and marking, resulting in a highly protective pair of oven mittens that wear like cashmere and last you a lifetime.
