The Leather Smart Wallet – Black

Leather just naturally belongs in front of certain words. Leather bags, leather boots, etc. Up until now, we’ve stayed out of the more popular leather goods. Now we’re making a change. At the very least, we’re making something that holds your change. That’s right, say hello to our first Stalwart Crafts Leather Wallet.

Our experience with wallets has been that traditional leather wallets look gorgeous but are too bulky. New wallets often take the streamlining a little too far, shedding the coin pocket and often, all traces of character. That’s where our Leather Wallet comes in. We like to think we’ve hit the sweet spot between Old and new; traditional and innovative.  It retains all the charm and longevity of an old leather wallet but keeping bulkiness to a minimum through a bit of innovation.

We’ve managed to reduce the size of our leather wallet primarily by including a trigger operated card holder in the design. Aside from making you feel like a secret agent, the modern design of this card holder allows you to store more cards than in old fashioned wallet slots. On the back you’ll find a change pocket, and inside there’s classic card slots, a notes pocket, and a space for a photo of your wife, your kids, your barbecue or whatever else you miss when away from home.

As with all of our products – we’ve endeavoured to make our wallet as sustainably produced as possible. We source our hides from end-of-life dairy cows from the UK, Italy, and Northern Europe when they are eventually butchered for their meat; these are hides that would otherwise go to waste. We then bring these hides to our tannery in Waalwijk, the Netherlands and tan them using a unique process that leads to very high-quality premium leather that is naturally waterproof. Then, we cure and treat this leather to make it highly resistant to cutting, staining, and marking. The result of this process is a leather wallet that you can count on for many years to come. In fact, as it sits in your pocket it’ll develop a gorgeous natural patina, making it unique to you.
